Indian Woman Olympic Medalists and Hearts Winner
In a nation where female empowerment is still a big topic, some women has outperformed men. Our women Olympics team has made the nation proud on a global platform.
These players despite facing the social prejudices and lack of facilities made it big. This year a total of 120 players represented India out of which the women brought back home success. Salute to the ladies, you have shown that women are not behind anyone.
Even if we haven’t won a gold, you have won our hearts. You go GIRL!
SAKSHI MALIK (23 Yrs), Bronze Medalist Female Wrestler
Bronze in Women Freestyle 58 Kg
Born in Rohtak, Sakshi always knew what she wanted to do in her life. With her parents support she trained hard and started her professional career.
Sakshi won a silver at 2015- Commonwealth Games at Glasgow and hasn’t looked back since. We are proud of her and her will make a mark in the next Olympics.
PV SINDHU (21 Yrs) – Silver Medalist Badminton
Won Silver for Nation in Badminton, Brought back new Gold in Badminton.
Becoming the first Indian woman to win Silver Medal in Olympics for India, Sindhu has shown what she is capable of and does not plan to stop. she gave a tough competition to the world’s no. 1, Carolina Marin.
Sindu stepped in when people thought that there is no scope of medal in absence of Saina Nehwal.
In the honour of her victory, UBER changed cars to shuttlecocks in their mobile application and Pizza Hut delivered free pizza to those who have name Sindhu.
There were more players won didn’t win but changed our hearts forever. We have a new found respect for them, their efforts didn’t go unnoticed.
COULD NOT WON MEDAL BUT DEFINITELY WON HEART
DIPA KARMAKAR (23 Years Old) – Gymnast
She is the first ever Indian female gymnast to compete in Olympics. Dipa became one of the five women gymnast who successfully landed Produnova, also known as vault of death. Her journey began on the backseat of a scooter where she used to practice. Despite the hard comings of an unpopular sport, Dipa bagged the 4th position in the finals losing by 0.6 sec.
Though she missed winning a medal, but had every heart in India. She has a lot to show and lot to conquer.
ADITI ASHOK (18 Years Old) – Golfer
Aditi, born in Bangalore started playing golf at the age of 5. She has had a lot of wins to her name and eyes on many more. She played a terrific game until the finals where she finished seven over 291, ending at 41st position.
VINESH PHOGAT (21 Years Old) – Wrestler
After qualifying the finals Vinesh got injured while fighting with Sun Yanan of China in quarter-finals. Unable to recover from her injury she lost to her competitors. She was hurt both physically and mentally as she mentioned in her tweet. We wish a safe recovery for vinesh and salute her spirit.
