7 Must Haves For Every Desi Girl
No matter how many voguish western dresses we own, Indian girls love dressing up desi. Indian traditional wear has an undying charm compared to everything else we own. We love the sarees and lehengas we get to wear during the festive season. And since the wedding season has just begun, here’s a list of things a desi girl must have in her wardrobe!
1. Patiala Salwar
This has never and will never go out of trend as long you are in India. This is the perfect lower that you must buy in basic colors like black and white. There is no kurta in your wardrobe which it will not complement. In fact it looks good with long shirts as well.
The famous earring which compliments every Indian face and built, is the beloved Jhumka. Jhumkas look cute and go well with Indian outfit. You can pair large shimmery jhumkas with basic kurtas to glamorize the look or wear small elegant ones with lehengas and sarees.
3. Jutti/Kolahpuri Chappals
Talking about shoes one has to have either a Jutti or Kolahpuri Chappals. Luckily for us, both these shoes are flats. Juttis go with all Indian wear as well as western dresses, while Kolhapuris are perfect for a casual day out.
4. Perfect Blouse
Family functions are when we get to drape ourselves in pretty sarees or rock those beautiful traditional skirts. But for that one must always have a blouse with your perfect fitting ready. We recommend that you get one made that will compliment a variety of sarees and lehengas in your wardrobe. The easiest one is a gold blouse which pairs well with almost everything.
5. Slit Kurta
A long kurta with a slit either on the side or in the middle has been making rounds and is one such Indian trends that is here to stay. This is an unusually addictive trend. We bet you will decide to buy one and end up with four.
6. Ethnic Long Skirt
This is one thing we all end up missing. A long skirt with an ethnic traditional border is great for days when you are feeling to dress up for a change. Pair up a Kurti or a crop top with this one and you will look like an absolute Diva.
A trendy dupatta is a must, something which will go well with everything you own. It can be an expensive silk or a normal cotton one and you can’t go wrong with it because the true grace of an Indian outfit is the dupatta.
