Walls Having Street Art in Delhi
Delhi is a melting point for a million things. From food, culture, shopping to basically everything under the sun gets a special treatment here in the capital. If you’re a street art fan, then you must visit these 5 graffiti walls and experience a visual treat:
1. Shahpur Jat
This is a designer hub and while the streets is a new world full of budding and existing designers selling their designs, if you look closely, the walls are filled with some wonderful street art. Also if you ever go for shopping over here, you can check out some very quaint cafes which serve delicious food!
2. Shankar Market
This is another clothes haunt and a literal heaven for people wanting to stock up piles of clothes in wholesale prices. While your mom or aunt would surely know every corner of this famous market near CP , the street art on the walls here is worth a look.
3. Khirki Extension
Once called ‘little Africa’, this colony in south Delhi has walls covered and painted with stories of wonderful street art. The urban village area near the Press Enclave Road has been colored with a lot of love by some wonderful artists. In fact, in 2012, it even hosted a street art festival which had never happened before.
4. Meherchand Market, Lodhi Colony
Named after a famous politician, this pretty posh market area is in the neighbourhood of the lavish Lodhi colony. A quick walk in this area will make you just sit back and stare at the walls. Also , one can spot so many bloggers and photography enthusiasts flocking the area for canvas pictures. A lot of home grown and international artists have colored the walls here with there beautiful creativity.
5. Delhi Police Headquarters
The Street Arts Association joined hands with the good people at the Delhi Police headquarters and gave it a very colourful, patriotic touch. One can spot this awesomely painted mural of our ‘father of the nation’, Mahatma Gandhi and beam with pure pride when you pass the headquarters.
