Sea of Galilee in Israel
The Sea of Galilee or Lake Kinneret is a marvellous, picturesque freshwater lake in Israel. Its historical significance can be found in the new Testament writings which say that it was the area around the Kinneret where Jesus lived, preached and performed miracles. Being one of the earliest settled areas in Israel, it boasts of a huge assortment of historic, natural, archaeological and religious attractions which brings in tourists from all across the world. Tiberias, one of the largest city around the lake has been famed as a spa centre since ancient times and it’s hot springs remain popular till date. The Hamat Gader Hot Springs spa, located about five miles southeast of the lake boasts of thermo-mineral springs, measuring 42 degrees all year long.
The world’s second largest bath complex was built here by the Ancient Romans 2000 years ago. You can treat yourself to a range of treatment therapies including massages, mud treatments and Turkish baths. After you are done, you can soak in some history by visiting a fourth century synagogue located nearby which features some beautiful mosaic floors.

Arbel National Park
Located 700 feet above the Sea of Galilee, the cliff offer spectacular views and is a hugely popular hiking destination. One of the major attraction here is the walk upto the Horns of Hittim which was where the decisive battle of the Crusaders and Saladin was held all the way back in 1187.
As you reach the summit, you will be able to find Bronze Age remains and of course beautiful views of the eastern Galilee and Sea of Galilee.

The major attraction here is the Sea of the Galilee boat, also known as the Jesus boat displayed at the Beit Yigal Allon Museum. The boat has huge historical significance and is believed to be dated between 70 BC and 90 AD.
According to popular belief, the boat was used for fishing and ferry during the time of Jesus. Made of twelve different types of wood, the boat is a fascinating artefact and you will surely be amazed listening about its discovery, extraction and preservation.

Mount of Beautitudes
The Mount of Beautitude, believed to be the place where Jesus delivered his famous Sermon on the Mount is one of the most serene places in the holy land. Located on a small hill overlooking the Sea of Galilee, the place offers enchanting views of the northern part of the lake.
The Church of the Beatitude is an elegant octagonal building built in 1938 by Italian architect Antonio Barluzzi, with the eight sides representing the eight beatitudes. Sit in the cool and quiet gardens and soak in the rich history of the place whilst admiring the enchanting views of the lake.

If you think the place is all about history, well you are mistaken. You can satisfy your adventure cravings and have fun with a host of water sports conducted on the lake including water skiing, canoeing wake boarding, tornado boating and more. Or you could choose to splash around at one of the three water amusement parks in the vicinity of the lake. You can even choose to opt for a personalised and private tour around the lake in a Malibu speed boat.
