A MUMBAI TO BALI CRUISE MAY SOON BE A REALITY!

Cruising is great fun! The idea of being treated to spectacular views, fine dining at classy restaurants, being pampered by different spa treatments and enjoying an array of cultural performances sounds really exciting. If you happen to love the entire experience of being on a cruise, well there is good news for you! The government is working on a Mumbai-Bali cruise route that will take you to the Island of Gods via Goa, Kochi and Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
Mr. Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport & Highways, Shipping and Water Resources announced recently that the Indian government was in discussion with the Indonesian government to kickstart this initiative as soon as possible. He said,” I have met a minister from Indonesia. We have initiated the idea of starting a cruise from Mumbai to Andaman & Nicobar Islands via Goa and Kochi. The ships can go up to Bali, Indonesia.”
With lakhs of Indians visiting Bali each year, it is needless to say that starting a cruise service will provide a huge boost to tourism. The government is in fact working hard to utilise India’s cruise tourism potential. The Mumbai Port Trust is developing a state of the art cruise terminal near Ballard Pier, which would cater to nearly 7 lakh passengers once it is ready next year. So for all cruise lovers, good times lie ahead!
