Layering Like A Pro In Winter
When it comes to styling in winter's, layering is hands down the best fashion trend to opt for. This trend can completely transform the look of an attire by adding more fun, drama and definition to it. Fresh combinations with different colors, textures and fabrics can all be fused together in just one ensemble. What makes layering even more enticing is that there are no set rules to nail this trend, which caters to people with different fashion palates.
Layering is always fun and experimental, however, a little thought is required before piling on separates because layering is not just about adding layers and layers of clothes one on top of the other but about combining different pieces together that would blend into and complement each other. The key is to avoid looking bulky or deluged under clothes.
Two layering basics that I swear by are incorporated in the two looks put together by me .
#LOOK1 : Go easy with the Layers!
I personally believe in not going overboard with layers. Keeping things minimal, I have layered an open front long jacket over an oversized sweater, worn with black shorts, thigh high socks and a pair of black mules. Layering in this ensemble is effortless and the look is very cosmopolitan and modish.
#LOOK2 : Layer from thinnest to thickest!
Whenever I plan to layer my outfit with more than two garments, I always wear lighter material pieces first and then add on the heavier ones. Staying true to the ritual, I have worn a Bomber jacket as the topmost layer, underneath which I am wearing a bottle green slip top over a high neck crop top with high waist pants and a pair of sneakers. The slip and the crop top add colours, which brings out the much needed pop in the outfit.
Layering is no big deal, just explore and experiment with your wardrobe and most importantly, stay true to your own style.
