Jet Airways Extra Baggage Charges / Allowance Policy Update
You know how all airlines have a certain baggage allowance limit attached to their terms and conditions for passengers flying with them.
Like depending on the class of your ticket, you can carry a certain amount of baggage with you on your flight.
Jet Airways is coming with a new plan that might disrupt the plans of many passengers and has even upset a few flyers.
Updated Jet Airways Extra Baggage Charges
Starting from 15th July, if you check-in more than one piece of luggage on your Jet Airways flight and you are on an economy class ticket, then you will have to shell out Rs. 3999 for that extra luggage.

Jet Airways Extra Baggage Charges Explaination
Let us break this down for you so it becomes more understandable.
Technically, if you are allowed 15 kgs and you check-in two pieces of luggage amounting to a total 15 kgs, then the airlines cannot really overcharge you.
However in a recent statement issue by Jet, a spokesperson mentioned that it was indeed going to happen.
I addition to this new move, Jet Airways is also following the footsteps of Air India. It has now hiked its excess baggage fee from Rs. 400 per kg to Rs. 500 per kg!
This whole idea of ‘piece concept’ by Jet Airways might not be a good idea but how feasible it is, only time will tell. Currently, economy class passengers can check-in up to 15 kgs and the business class passengers can carry up to 30 kgs, oh and also, they can carry two bags.
