Yoga is an ancient form of wellness of the mind and the body which finds its roots in or beautiful country , and is also an essential part of our history and culture.
In 2015, Prime Minister Modi urged the UN to declare 21st June as a dedicated day for Yoga to spread the awareness and also since it is the longest day of the Summer in the Northern Hemisphere.

Ever since then, 21st June is being celebrated as ‘International Yoga Day’. The day was flagged off by PM Modi himself as he performed a few ‘asanas’ with volunteers in Dehradun.

A very interesting aspect was watching the armed forces come together to celebrate this day as well. The Indo-Tibetan personnel performed Yoga at the border, while the IAF warriors amazed the world with some Yoga in the air, and our brave Indian Naval officers did their bit as well.
