The Cycle Themed Ciclo Cafe in Gurgaon
With a growing consciousness amongst the current generation to maintain a healthy lifestyle, cycling has emerged as a viable solution. Weekends see scores of cyclists hurtle across the city in groups. After a successful stint at their flagship outlets in Chennai and Hyderabad, Ciclo Café comes to Gurgaon to unite all the cyclists out there. From good food to buying a good cycle, they’ve got it all covered.
Haven For Cyclists
An association between TI Cycles and Absolute Speciality, Ciclo Café provides more than just good grub. It is a one stop shop for all your cycling needs. You can buy or rent the cycles kept in the café. They also sell all kinds of cycling gear from helmets to elbow pads and you can even get your cycle serviced or repaired here. The interiors reflect the world of bicycles through its embellishments. Chandeliers made from cycle chains, a wall decorated with cycle bells and tables constructed with different parts of a cycle constitute the décor.
In a market dominated by breweries and party spots, Ciclo Café comes as a breath of fresh air with a non alcoholic menu and great options for a laidback meal. To humour the kid in you, order a Franken Shake which is basically a Nutella freak shake loaded with whipped cream, a mini doughnut, Oreo, Kitkat, Gems and crushed nuts. Kaffir Lime and Ginger Collin brought out a wonderful harmony between the two key ingredients which complemented each other’s sharp flavor. Berry Blast is another beverage to rejuvenate your senses and beat the heat.
Onion rings are given a twist by filling them with broccoli and mushroom. Kaffir Lime Chicken Tikka failed to strike a chord as it was slightly dry. The Grilled Cajun Chicken was brilliant with spicy Cajun and succulent pieces of grilled chicken. The Teriyaki Mushroom and Kimchi Baos lacked zing that should have manifested itself with the presence of Kimchi. The Zatar spiced Calamari is a must try with its crispy exterior and the enchanting aroma of Zatar. The coconut crusted Prawns were served in a jar on a bed of lettuce.
Happiness On A Plate
The main course items combined class and funk in the way dishes were presented. Barley and Cottage Cheese Construct comprised of Barley, 2 thick slices of grilled cottage cheese doused in Pesto Sauce along with some lettuce and olives on top. Black Pepper and Chili rubbed Steak along with Potato Wedges was a blast of flavours in the mouth; an amalgamation of subtle pepper and fiery red chillies. Harissa Lamb Chops were not very appetizing as the mutton stayed dry and chewy from within. Their Ravioli is an absolute delight. Blessed with yellow and green stripes on the outside and delectable filling of artichoke and sundried tomatoes, it was the stream of blue cheese on top that was the real star and enhanced the dish.
They whip one of the best Philadelphia Cheesecakes in town. However, it was the Bailey’s Pancake with ice cream and nuts that grabbed the trophy. Generous scoops of ice cream wrapped in a thin pancake are presented with a drizzle of nuts and Chocó syrup. The impeccable presentation is truly soul-satisfying.
Ciclo Café is equipped with a well informed staff that will help you in deciding your meal along with imparting cycling advice. For a palate enriching experience, this place deserves a visit.
