Turban Day Celebrations By The Sikhs In US Set A World Record

They say that ‘Singh is king’ and there is a meaning behind this saying. Our Sikh brothers never fail to surprise us and warm our hearts with their courage and wonderful initiatives. Just like last year, a Sikh organisation undertook the initiative to celebrate ‘Turban day’ in the US.

My younger brother,S. Inderjit Singh also participated in the event, which was organised to educate general public about the #Sikh community & Sikh #Turban.#TurbanDay2018 #SikhValues #SikhBeliefs #SikhAwareness #unitedsikhs pic.twitter.com/6HetYFwld9— Manjit Singh GK (@ManjitGK) April 9, 2018
The whole idea was to create awareness about the pride of the turban, which has been perceived in various ways in the last few years around the world. The best part is that they even made a world record for tying over 9,000 turbans in 8 hours.

The celebrations are also a part of the beginning of ‘Vaisakhi’ festival this week. Embracing a different culture is a beautiful thing to do and Sikhism is a religion which preaches harmony and unity.
